Big City is a French roast dark coffee blend combining beans from Cerrado, Minas Gerais, Brazil, produced by the Veloso Family, and the South Caribbean Autonomous Region of Nicaragua, grown by smallholder farmers. The blend includes Red Catuaí and Peaberry varieties from Brazil alongside Robusta Tropical from Nicaragua, cultivated at elevations ranging from 200–1,500 meters above sea level. These coffees are processed using both natural and washed methods, contributing to body, sweetness, and structure in the cup.
In the cup, Big City expresses a deeply developed, full-bodied profile with pronounced notes of burnt sugar, baking chocolate, and roasted almond. The French roast level brings forward caramelized sugars and roasted characteristics while maintaining underlying sweetness and balance. The result is a dense, low-acid cup with a heavy mouthfeel and a smooth, lingering finish.
This coffee performs well across multiple brew methods. As an espresso, it produces a bold, structured shot with strong chocolate-forward intensity. In drip and batch brewing, it delivers a consistent, full-bodied cup, while its roast development allows it to integrate easily with milk in drinks like lattes and cappuccinos without losing presence. Big City is Rainforest Alliance certified and kosher certified, reflecting responsible sourcing and consistent processing from origin to roast.
