Guatemala La Merced Coffee is a fresh roasted single origin coffee produced by Juan Luis Barrios Ortega in the San Martin Jilotepeque region of Guatemala. The farm has been part of the Barrios family for generations, with some coffee trees tracing their history back to plantings made by Juan Luis's grandfather in 1912. Today, the family continues to focus on quality-driven coffee production while using sustainable farming practices that help protect the land for future generations.
Grown from primarily Bourbon varieties and processed using the traditional washed method, this coffee offers a balanced cup with chocolate sweetness, subtle floral notes, and a creamy body. The careful attention given to cultivation and processing allows the coffee's natural sweetness and clean character to shine through, creating an approachable yet rewarding coffee that highlights the craftsmanship and heritage behind one of Guatemala's respected family farms.
