About the Coffee:
Our Co-Founder Paul first visited Misozi Kopaki while he was an International Judges for the Cup of Excellence in 2012, he was impressed by the meticulous Quality Assurance standards they had in place along with the cooperation of all the farmers pooling their resources to increase the quality of the coffee that they produce. This in turn allowed the farmers to receive a much higher price for that coffee. We are excited to be able to bring you this amazing representation of Rwandan Coffee.
Misozi Kopaki is grown in the Karongi District of western Rwanda by over 800 small farmers. The farmers in this area, in an effort to create the best coffee possible, have pooled their coffee, resources and knowledge together by forming a cooperative they called Kopaki. After forming their coop, they joined a group of coops called Misozi to aid in the final processing and exportation of their coffee. The Misozi and Kopaki coops are proudly certified Fair Trade to guarantee transparency and fairness throughout their growing community.
