Introducing Nicaragua Café Diego, a direct trade organic coffee that is grown at high altitudes above 5500 feet in the mountains of Matagalpa. This micro-lot specialty grade organic coffee is produced on a 300-hectare farm owned by Diego Chavarria, whose family has been involved in coffee farming for generations. The coffee beans are wet-processed on the farm, ensuring the highest quality of taste and aroma.

Diego’s story is an inspiring one. During the Coffee Crisis in the early 2000s, his farm was lost due to the debt created by the decreasing earnings year to year. However, after nearly a decade, Diego was able to buy back his farm and has been nurturing his plants once again, growing new varietals, and increasing the quality of his yields for the past five years. When you purchase a bag of Nicaragua Café Diego, you’re supporting the hard work and dedication of a coffee producer who has overcome adversity to bring you the best possible coffee.

He employs over 300 workers during the harvest season, supports 40 churches around the mountains of Matagalpa, and is heavily involved in community building activities.
