Discover the amazing flavors with our Ethiopian Yirgacheffe Washed Process coffee, sourced from the Yirgacheffe Kebele Dumerso region. This single-origin coffee is carefully crafted by 750+ small producers who cultivate the heirloom variety of coffee beans at an altitude of 1960 meters.

The beans are meticulously processed through the washed process, which involves removing the outer fruit of the coffee cherry before washing the beans in water to remove any remaining pulp. This results in a clean, bright, and smooth taste, with natural flavor notes of bright citrus, floral, and cane sugar. The light roast level perfectly highlights these flavors.

The Dumerso washing station, owned and operated by Hirut Berhanu, is where this exceptional coffee is processed. Located near the town of Yirgacheffe, Ethiopia, the station is a locally owned and family-run mill that sources coffee from many small farms in the surrounding area. Coffee is the primary industry in Dumerso, providing income for more than 90% of the population. Hirut employs over 290 workers, 95% of whom are women, during the harvest season from October to January.

Hirut has been involved in the coffee trade for 15 years, starting as a coffee trader in the Ethiopian commodity exchange. In 2010, she purchased the Dumerso washing station from the government and reopened it in 2013 to process specialty coffee. Her dedication to coffee has helped provide livelihoods for families and send children to school in the region.
